Studio Project

When creating a design solution for the 1st and 2nd year studio I really wanted to incorporate more collaborative spaces for students to work together. Collaborative spaces increase creativity and innovation as well as helping to create balance. It's important for us students to feel comfortable working together as we are together for so long. I created an increase in the amount of collaborative spaces so that this will create an opening that will promote social interactions, and open-mindedness. While I think that creating collaboration areas is important, I also recognize that not all students want to work in collaborative areas all the time. Therefore, I created spaces where students can work either by themselves or have another student with them. Using the small table two chairs system allows teams to have their own space while also allowing students to get a sense of exclusion when wanted. Along with collaboration spaces I wanted the overall vibe of the space to be comfortable for every task. I will implement high top seating and low top seating along with booth and couch seating. This really creates variety in the studio and comfort for all.

2nd year Studio

The second year studio is filled with large collaborative desk and comfortable rolling chairs to create ample opportunity for group work.

Studio Classroom 1

1st year studio

The first year studio has a combination of seating. 1 year is where you really find your place. This is why I though it was essential to have some collaborative seating as well as seating that can be used for individual work.
